Vietnamese Culture and Cuisine Explored by the Arabic and South Asian Cultural Exchange

Architecturally detailed, the beautiful diplomat residence of Vietnam, built in 1908, drew our eyes and curiosity into a Journey through Vietnamese Culture and Cuisine. An amazing video of Vietnamese attire and cuisine took us to different areas of the country such as Hanoi, the North and the South. We were welcomed by Madam Tran Thi Bich Van of Viet Nam, spouse of the Ambassador, and CED's Chair of the ASA Cultural Exchange, Anita Rezazad. Ms. May Nguyen, cultural spokeswoman for the embassy, then took us on a more comprehensive journey into Vietnam’s cuisine, its unique traditions and flavorful foods and spices, festivals and culture. We discovered that Vietnam is home to many UNESCO sites, such as Ha Long Bay, Hoi An Ancient Town, and My Son Sanctuary, along with UNESCO-recognized art forms. We also enjoyed the opportunity to try on traditional Vietnamese dress, to make Vietnamese spring rolls and to savor a sumptuous lunch. It was a great glimpse into Vietnam’s culture. Thank you, Madam Tran Thi Bich Van!
