Visit to the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception (Catholic Basilica)
Attendees of this tour of the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception enjoyed the beauty and ambience of this amazing Basilica. Dedicated to the Virgin Mary, it is the nation’s pre-eminent Marian shrine and the largest Roman Catholic Church in the United States. With construction beginning in October 1923, the Shrine was finally dedicated in 1959, after 36 years. Participants especially liked visiting the different chapels distinctive to their countries of which there are over 70, and they reveled in the many amazing mosaics and intricate artwork.
